Natural Home Remedies For Diarrhea

Diarrhea is defind as loose, watery, and frequent stools. Diarrhea can cause dehydration. If you have dehydration, then the body lacks enough fluid to function properly. Dehydration is a dangerous for children and elderly. Diarrhea increase the frequency of bowel movements or decrease in the form of stool. In which condition, Diarrhea passing body waste from the bowel and in a more liquid state. Diarrhea can be further divided into four types. Chronic diarrhea, acute diarrhea, gastroenteritis diarrhea, dysentery diarrhea. Chronic diarrhea is mostly seen in people who have had loose or liquid stool for over 2 weeks. Acute enteritis means inflammation of intestine. If you have gastroenteritis diarrhea, it may cause vomiting or it is associated with nausea. Dysentery diarrhea contains blood, pus, or mucus.

Causes of Diarrhea

  • Several types of bacteria such as include campylobacter, salmonella, shigella, and escherichia coli can cause diarrhea.
  • Diarrhea may also cause by some viruses that such as include rotavirus, norwalk virus, cytomegalovirus, herpes simplex virus, and viral hepatitis.
  • If you are eating improper foods or if you are drinking milk or milk products and all these are intolerant for you, then it may also cause diarrhea. Because small amount of the milk sugar lactose can cause diarrhea.
  • If you are eating large amounts of fatty foods, then it may also cause the diarrhea.
  • Another parasitic organism include cryptosporidium, it may also cause of gastrointestinal illness in children.
  • Diarrhea may also occur if you are taking certain medications, particularly antibiotics. Because antibiotics destroy both good and bad bacteria, and it may disturb the natural balance of bacteria in your intestines. This disturbance cuase to the serious infection, which can also cause diarrhea.

Home Remedies for Diarrhea

  • You should drink the juice of a freshly squeezed lemon in a large glass of water three to five times a day, becuase it will kill off the pathogens that may cause the diarrhea.
  • If you have diarrhea, then you should drink lots of water by mixing pinch of salt and sugar or some electrolyte available without prescription in it. It will help to prevent dehydration.
  • you can also drink half a cup of water with a few drops of Pudin Hara or Amritdhara(mint essence or peppermint) added in it. You should drink this 3-4 times.
  • You should drink blackberry tea for mild diarrhea.
  • Do not drink apple juice, it can be increase diarrhea problem worse.
  • You should take this powder, made by mixing 1 Tbsp poppy seeds, 1 tsp edible gum, 1 tsp cardamom powder, 1/2 tsp nutmeg (jaiphal) powder, and 2 tbs sugar every 2 hours.
  • You can also drink 1/2 tsp of dry ginger (saunth powder in 1 cup buttermilk (chhachh) 3-4 times a day.
